A daughter-in-law speaks up
I really don't understand this biased view of mothers in law! How are MIL nowadays.Let me cite an example from my own experience. My Mil acted all modern and smart when she wanted my hand for their son. When my wedding day approached close they troubled us in every possible way by trying to change every single decision we made(we were paying a lot of money for my wedding day arrangements)we even paid for their weeding cards,My MIL wanted us to buy even silks saris for all her relatives and she presented me a grahapravesham dress worth 100o Rs!!!As for sharing work and making it easy for the MIL...I did most of the work at her home as she is extremely lazy her husbands cooks cleans...for her and madam wears salwars and competes with her DIL in every possible way! When I got married I had all this feeling that I would tolerate all this for my husband but I received indifference in every way.I found them to be selfish, immature, highly conceited.(The first day of my wedding day we were not even given a separate room and I overheard(by chance)my MIL telling her another idiotic son not to give me the cordless to make a call!(she probably thought I would run away with it)I used to earn more than my Fil ever earned!and I am a professional and my MIL has not even finished school! So much for MIL affection!First of all unless a DIL feels welcome and love she can't reciprocate it okay!Give love and take love our mothers also take care of us and feed and educate us. Your sons are not alone god send!
