Her Decision
She looked at the setting sun, which today set down slowly without provoking any kind of feelings in her heart. Otherwise, since Tony’s walkout she was afraid of the approach of darkness. The name Tony has no room in her heart now; her life was just like silent water, which does not want to be disturbed.
Yes, she and Tony shared a great amount of time together; it was since their marriage till breakup. In that ten year period they had created a small world for themselves with two kids spreading happiness all around. The wheel of time was moving and they were enjoying their conjugal life at its fullest. She was a dress designer and was running a small boutique in the garage of her house. She was quite satisfied with the thought that she can play the double role of being a career woman as well as a housewife.
Tony was a mechanical engineer and he was also enjoying the privileges of his prestigious job. It was then, that Tony was selected as the project manager on contract basis of 3 months, for a newly built factory in another town. He was provided with a personal assistant, she was a divorcee but a very smart and energetic lady, and obviously that was the beginning of the end!
After the completion of his project, he was back with his family but Neha observed a little difference in Tony’s behaviour. Now her husband considered her as an unenthusiastic, tired lady, though she, according to her age was a fit person. First she felt that she was being taken for granted, but later there were comparisons, which she avoided in the beginning but later became sick of hearing. Gradually it all led to a breakup.
Tony requested his company for a transfer and left home. She was depressed, she thought that the world has come to an end; she started hating herself and was doing very badly in her business too. Her only ray of hope were her kids, their innocent faces washed away her gloom for time being. But Tony’s imaginary figure was always in front of her, she cried, yelled, hated and shouted at that. She thought of diverting her mind by devoting a great amount of time to her business, but she was finding it difficult to cope up with all that. Slowly and gradually she started putting her soul and body to her work and was quite satisfied by the fact that when she worked hard she had less hatred for Tony.
Days were passing and she was doing well in her business. Her kids and her career were her life now. Looking outside the window she observed the changing colors of the sky, eventually she inferred that change is something very natural and normal. If we have a constant eye on action, we can take change very naturally but if we continue after a pause then there is a feeling of distress. Suddenly, she heard the phone ring and attended it; someone from the other side was talking from the hospital. He informed her that Tony had met with an accident and was in hospital, in a very critical condition.
She froze at the words, and was unable to react, after few seconds she retrieved her senses and rushed to the hospital and saw Tony in a very pathetic condition. Her husband was less than a complete man, his leg was amputated and the crutches were there at the side of the bed, now he needed those more than anyone. He was alone there since two days, with only a nurse to attend to him; there was no sign of any other sympathetic heart to console him during this dreadful situation. Tears came into her eyes, which she tried hard to control, she talked with her husband very sympathetically, but he was unable to look her in the eye. Suddenly, all hatred for Tony had vanished and her heart bore no regrets and no complaints. All she wanted to do, was to take Tony home, not because she needed him, but because he needed the love and care of a family.
Life is all about new beginnings!
