MY Role Model - Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi

Which young celebrity is a role model for today's young Indian woman?

Leaders are made, they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile. Such a leader, is the woman i wish to emulate some day, Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi ,Chairman(or should i say chairwoman) and Chief Executive officer of PepsCo, the fourth largest company in the world.

In this world that still unfortunately reels from a male dominated society it takes guts, perseverance and twice as much effort for a woman to succeed. Indra Nooyi is an exemplary example of one such woman who has proved that a woman can go places if she is determined to do so. We dont see many contamporary Indian women entering the field of business or venturing to become entrepreneurs unlike the west. But even admist this dampening scenario here is a lady who has proved otherwise. She is the first lady to head PepsiCo as its CEO and she has figured in the Forbes Magazine list of Most Powerful Women in the world consecutively for 2 years( 2006/2007) .

It is my dream to become a successful entrepreneur heading a business which has stakes internationally. To achieve this dream Ms Nooyi is my guiding star. The fact that she is from Tamil Nadu puts her close to my heart considering that i am a native tamilian and the accomplishment of a woman from my native region gives me immense confidence to reach for the stars and make a niche for myself. Her success story has etched itself in my mind and gives me the hope that determination coupled with hardwork will surely yeild fruitful results.
